Wednesday 19th November was the last day of PREP for this year and we’d like to share with you what the children have been doing.
This year, on the initiative of our Co-Ordinator, Sandy Coelho, we continued PREP classes after the Sacraments were completed.
Together with the Catechists, it was decided that we do things a little differently for the 6 weeks of term 4.

New Altar Servers

It is always exciting to see young people step up in service to the Lord…and there is nothing more precious than serving Our Lord on the Altar.
On 19 October 2014, our parish was blessed with the commissioning of 10 new Altar Servers: Caitlin Barnard; Daniella Conradie; Marcus da Silva; Jude de Lima; Natasha Friedrich; Gabriella Genovese; Felipe Gutierrez; James Riecken and Ashleigh Westcott.
“We pray that all our new Altar Servers, and their parents, will be abundantly blessed in this very special ministry.”

Asian Fusion Dinner Dance

St Simon Peter Parish held its annual dinner dance to the theme of Asian Fusion on Saturday 20 September. 100 people attended this wonderful event in the Hall of Frances Jordan Catholic School.

2014 First Holy Communion Workshops

Recently over two weekends in early August, our Parish held five Workshops for our First Holy Communion Candidates and their parents.
At the Workshops they went through the steps of the Eucharist where we 'Gather, Listen, Give Thanks, Receive and Go'.  Families listened and shared their reflections on some Scripture Readings. The children were given a opportunity to particpate and share their thoughts and reflections.
Parents were asked to write a special prayer for their child which was shared at the end of the Session. Staff from both schools and PREP showed their support by their attendance and assisted with the demonstration of how to receive the Body and Blood of Christ.
The workshops were presented by Mr Stephen Harris and the attendance by the First Holy Communion Candidates was excellent.

Feast of Corpus Christi

On the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), our Parish celebrated with a Procession at 3.00pm.
Four Altars were prepared and decorated by groups of our Parish and Francis Jordan School and we were blessed with fine weather.
