Bishop Karol visits our Parish

On the feast of the Epiphany, our Parish community was honoured by the visitation of the Most Reverend Bishop of Port Pirie, South Aust, Bishop Karol Kulczycki SDS who was the main celebrant at the 10am Mass.
This was his first pontifical Mass celebrated in WA since his recent consecration as Bishop and we were privileged that we could share this experience with him.
Fr Francis’ introduction referring to him as ‘One wise man from the East’ was very appropriate.

During Bishop Karol’s homily he told us that “We can be the star leading our families to this place (the church)” and concluded with “May the light of Christ shine in your hearts and in your family.”
Many parishioners stayed and joined in our sausage sizzle morning tea after Mass and took the opportunity to have a catch-up and chat with him.

St Simon Peter Parish Prayer

St Simon Peter Parish Prayer

Heavenly Father,
you have chosen our parish as the place by which you encounter us in our daily lives.
Here your Word is proclaimed, the Eucharist is celebrated,
and your people are united in a family of believers.
We pray for our parish named in honour of St Simon Peter and placed under his patronage.
Through his intercession may every blessing be poured out on all members of our parish.
We pray for our schools, their staff and students, and all their families.
May our parish be filled with holiness and prayer, with faith and love;
May it be a place where worthy and reverent worship is offered to God,
and where we receive grace and power for our mission.
May all who come here find a welcoming home,
comfort in their needs and strength for their journey of faith.
We make this prayer through Christ, Our Lord.
Amen
