Social Groups

Social Committee

The prime objective of the Social Committee is to involve parishioners through social activity thus helping people in the ways of a true parish community. Their focus is on getting parishioners to know each other and make new friends. Functions are held regularly throughout the year endeavoring to cater for all different interests. Please check the Calendar section of our web page for social events scheduled for this year. Please join us for our regular morning tea after the 10am Mass on the first Sunday of the month.

St Simon Peter Parish Playgroup has been running for many years.  Along with a very friendly atmosphere for mum's, dad's and toddlers alike, it has an extensive range of indoor and outdoor toys, making it a great way to meet and make friends over a cuppa, whilst the children have fun in a safe environment learning to interact and share with one another.

Craft Group

This group started some time in 1994.  Currently we meet on Mondays (except public holidays) from approximately 9.30am til 12 noon.  We pay $1.00 per visit towards tea/coffee and biscuits and make a small donation to the church each year.  We go out at Christmas time for a lunch which is partly funded by any excess money we have from our weekly contribution.

We currently have about 18 members, half from this Parish and the rest are friends.  Our members are from various countries - England, Scotland, Holland, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Ireland, South Africa, India and a few 'true blue Aussies!"

St Simon Peter Parish Prayer

St Simon Peter Parish Prayer

Heavenly Father,
you have chosen our parish as the place by which you encounter us in our daily lives.
Here your Word is proclaimed, the Eucharist is celebrated,
and your people are united in a family of believers.
We pray for our parish named in honour of St Simon Peter and placed under his patronage.
Through his intercession may every blessing be poured out on all members of our parish.
We pray for our schools, their staff and students, and all their families.
May our parish be filled with holiness and prayer, with faith and love;
May it be a place where worthy and reverent worship is offered to God,
and where we receive grace and power for our mission.
May all who come here find a welcoming home,
comfort in their needs and strength for their journey of faith.
We make this prayer through Christ, Our Lord.
