2014 First Holy Communion Workshops

Recently over two weekends in early August, our Parish held five Workshops for our First Holy Communion Candidates and their parents.
At the Workshops they went through the steps of the Eucharist where we 'Gather, Listen, Give Thanks, Receive and Go'.  Families listened and shared their reflections on some Scripture Readings. The children were given a opportunity to particpate and share their thoughts and reflections.
Parents were asked to write a special prayer for their child which was shared at the end of the Session. Staff from both schools and PREP showed their support by their attendance and assisted with the demonstration of how to receive the Body and Blood of Christ.
The workshops were presented by Mr Stephen Harris and the attendance by the First Holy Communion Candidates was excellent.

Feast of Corpus Christi

On the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), our Parish celebrated with a Procession at 3.00pm.
Four Altars were prepared and decorated by groups of our Parish and Francis Jordan School and we were blessed with fine weather.

Confirmation Workshops 2014

Confirmation Workshops and Rite of Election Masses
In preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, five Workshops were held over the two weekends of 17th & 18th and the 24th and 25th of May and were attended by our Parish Confirmation Candidates with their parents, and some sponsors and grandparents.

Holy Week

On the Holy Thursday of The Lord’s Supper, we invited 12 men of our Parish to take the place of Jesus’ disciples to have their feet washed by Fr Darek.
It was a touching moment when Fr. Darek washed the feet of his own father who was visiting from Poland.

Palm Sunday

On Palm Sunday at our Parish’s re-enactment of the Lord’s entrance into Jerusalem, we too had 2 ponies to give our Jesus (Altar server Raul Chadinha) a ride.
The children were also given a treat and had an opportunity to have a short ride on the ponies before Mass.
